The fourth edition of the international summer school titled “Contemporary Issues in Post-Conflict Societies” was hosted by Bahçeşehir Cyprus University
The fourth edition of the international summer school titled “Contemporary Issues in Post-Conflict Societies,” organized by Bahçeşehir Cyprus University in collaboration with the University of Sarajevo, Chicago-Kent College of Law, and the Sarajevo Law Association, was hosted by Bahçeşehir Cyprus University from September 4 to September 8, 2023. The event, which was attended by 25 participants from 18 countries, mostly graduate law students, was lectured by legal academics from BAU Cyprus Faculty of Law, University of Sarajevo Faculty of Law, Chicago Kent-College of Law, University of Pristina and Eastern Mediterranean University.
On the fourth day of the event, the participants visited TRNC Minister of Foreign Affairs Tahsin Ertuğruloğlu accompanied by BAU Cyprus Rector Prof. Dr. Mehmet Toycan and Faculty of Law Acting Dean Assist. Prof. Dr. Aydın Atılgan. Minister Ertuğruloğlu gave information about the latest developments in the Cyprus problem and answered the questions of the participants.
Participants who visited the Maraş and Arasta regions with a guide had the opportunity to discuss current legal issues in Cyprus as well as recent developments in international law, including those in Bosnia and Herzegovina, Kosovo, and the Middle East. Certificates were presented to the participants upon completion of the summer school by Assist. Prof. Dr. Aydın Atılgan.
