Computer Engineering Master’s Program

The Master of Science in Computer Engineering program aims to graduate students ready for advanced studies in computer engineering. This program provides a solid foundation to design, develop, and use the most up-to-date computer systems. In addition, the graduated students will have the ability to research, design, implement, and validate new methods for complex real-life problems using computer engineering principles.

Computer Engineering Master’s Program Curriculum

Computer Engineering Master’s with Thesis:

The MSc in Computer Engineering program comprises the most up-to-date must and elective courses such as fundamentals of modern computer networks and software engineering and project management, research methods. In addition, the students present their research topic in the seminar course and write a thesis about the conducted research.

Computer Engineering Master’s without Thesis:

The MSc in Computer Engineering program comprises the most up-to-date must and elective courses such as fundamentals of modern computer networks and software engineering and project management, research methods. In addition, the students complete a term project in the final year of the program.

Program Learning Outcomes

Assessment

Course assessment usually comprises of a comprehensive final exam and continuous assessment. Continuous assessment can include amongst others, mid-terms, projects, and class participation. Letter grades are calculated based on the weight of the final exam and the continuous assessment and the actual numerical marks obtained in these two assessment components. Based on the course grades the student’s semester grade point average (GPA) and cumulative point average (CPA) are calculated.

Graduation

Computer Engineering Master’s with Thesis:

The student must complete 120 ECTS and all programme requirements. A minimum cumulative grade point average (CPA) of 3.0 is required for graduation. Thus, although letter grades below B are pass grades (conditionally pass), in order to achieve a CPA of 3.0, an average grade of ‘B’ is required. In addition, it is required to complete thesis in a specified duration and quality.

Computer Engineering Master’s without Thesis:

The student must complete 90 ECTS and all programme requirements. A minimum cumulative grade point average (CPA) of 3.0 is required for graduation. Thus, although letter grades below B are pass grades (conditionally pass), in order to achieve a CPA of 3.0, an average grade of ‘B’ is required. In addition, it is required to complete term project in a specified duration and quality.
