Computer Programming Associate Program

To train contemporary programmers who are equipped with sufficient knowledge, skills and working discipline to work in various fields of Computer Programming such as software, web design, database, hardware, have internalized ethical values, follow the developments in the world besides their duties and are open to new technologies, who believe in the continuity of learning.

The rapidly increasing developments in information and internet technologies all over the world in recent years increase the need for programming day by day. In this context, the Computer Programming associate degree program has prepared to respond to this need to provide a quality education and training that will prepare students to take an effective role in the informatics world after graduation.

Computer Programming Associate Program Curriculum

In order to graduate from Bahçeşehir Cyprus University, a course load of 60 credits must be completed. Our students take the necessary basic courses for computer programming in the first year. In the second year, our students take elective courses in addition to the compulsory courses required for this branch.

Program Learning Outcomes

Students who complete the program will have achieved the following outcomes:

1. To have knowledge of basic mathematical and physical subjects,
2. To have the necessary software and hardware knowledge in the office environment
3. To be able to explain and develop the basic concepts, principles and principles of software
4. To be able to install and maintain the system, when necessary, by having the knowledge and skills to recognize and use tools, machines and equipment in the computer field
5. To be able to communicate effectively by using the Turkish language well and to know a foreign language at a level to communicate with colleagues and customers,
6. To be able to install, maintain and control the necessary database in the software,
7. To have the knowledge and skills to realize graphical and animation designs in desktop and internet programming,
8. Having knowledge of developing, maintaining and controlling Internet projects
9. Having knowledge and skills in project development, teamwork, software and hardware development
10. To have basic knowledge and skills about operating and network systems, to be able to install, maintain and repair

Assessment

Course assessment usually consists of a comprehensive final exam, midterms, projects and continuous assessment.

Letter grades are calculated based on the weight of the final exam and continuous assessment and the actual numerical grades achieved in these two assessment components. The semester grade point average (GPA) and grade point average (CPA) of the student are calculated according to the course grades.

Graduation

The student has to complete 120 ECTS and all program requirements. A minimum cumulative grade point average (CPA) of 2.0 is required. Thus, although a ‘D-‘ is a PASS grade, an average grade of ‘C’ is required to achieve a CPA of 2.0.
