The Masters in Management Information Systems (MIS) program is designed to provide students with a comprehensive understanding of the role of information systems in modern organizations. The program covers topics such as database management, Technical foundations of Business Information Systems, Data Mining and Knowledge Acquisition, project management, and Innovation and Knowledge Management. Students will develop the technical skills needed to manage complex information systems and the business knowledge required to understand how these systems can be used to support organizational goals. Graduates of the program will be well-equipped to pursue careers in a variety of industries, including technology, finance, healthcare, and government.
MIS Masters program with thesis consists of at least seven courses, a seminar course and thesis, with a total of not less than 21 credits. The seminar course and thesis work are non-credit and are evaluated as successful or unsuccessful. MIS Masters program with thesis consists of a total of at least 90 ECTS credits, including at least eight courses including a seminar course to be planned in the fall and spring semesters of education and thesis work.
In the first semester of the Masters in MIS program, students must successfully complete one University core course (Scientific Research Methods and Publication Ethics), one Departmental core course (Technical Foundations of Business Information Systems) and two electives. Upon completing this semester, they will be required to take four additional courses, including a seminar, one departmental core course (Managing Change in Organizations) and two electives. To graduate from this program, they will be required to complete two more semesters of Thesis writing and supervision in addition to the previously stated courses. Upon successful completion and defenses of the Thesis, they will be considered to have graduated from this program.
Course assessment usually consists of a comprehensive final exam, midterm, quizzes, case analysis, projects and participation in the class.
Letter grades are calculated based on the weight of the final exam, midterm exam, quizzes, case analysis, projects, assignments etc. and the actual numerical grades achieved in these assessment components. The semester grade point average (GPA) and grade point average (CPA) of the student are calculated according to the course grades.
The student has to complete 90 ECTS and all program requirements. A minimum cumulative grade point average (CPA) of 3.0 is required.
