F. Research Topics

1. Health inequality and social determinants of health: Health behaviours of cultural groups, social and cultural factors influencing health beliefs particularly illness perceptions are some of the topics studied.

2. Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) oriented intervention programs and psychological flexibility: ACT interventions aiming to increase psychological flexibility in the contexts of weight related difficulties, stigmatising thoughts, and physical conditions are some of the research topics studied.

3. Mixed-method research: Methodological research that used quantitative and/or qualitative methods; data analysis techniques to synthesise evidence.

I. Acceptance and commitment therapy for weight related psychological inflexibility.

II. Virtual reality-based mindfulness exercise to reduce experiential avoidance.

III. Motivation, experiences, and support needs of living kidney donors.

IV. Longitudinal assessment of illness perceptions in patients with chronic kidney disease in Northern Cyprus.

V. Experiences of access to healthcare amongst parents of autistic children from minority ethnic communities.
