  1. Concrete Durability:

General concepts on concrete durability; experimental investigations on Sulfate Attack Problem in Concrete, Carbonation Problem in Concrete, Corrosion of Reinforcing bars in Concrete and Alkali-aggregate Reactions in Concrete. Investigations on the effects of different concrete parameters and exposure conditions on provoking these mentioned concrete durability problems.

  1. Determination of Concrete Performance in Concrete Using Artificial Intelligence

Using Artificial Intelligence, mainly Artificial Neural Networks, for the prediction and classification of concrete compressive strength, as well as for the prediction of other performance parameters concrete mixes exposed to concrete durability problems such as concrete carbonation.

  1. Using Waste Materials in Concrete Manufacture and Sustainability.

Employing waste glass, waste bricks as well as “recycled concrete aggregates” in the concrete mixes to replace the use natural aggregates; experimental investigations on fresh and hardened performance of such mixes.

  1. Lunar Soil Simulants and Lunar Construction Materials/Lunar Concrete

Using lunar regolith (soil) simulants for manufacture and for laboratory performance testing of lunar construction materials/lunar concretes that are eventually aimed to be used in building lunar outposts for space investigations.
